pre set stations from steering wheel

I just took delivery of a 2006 cls 500 I am livid that you cannot scroll your preset stations from the steering wheel.. I think that is ridiculous not to mention dangerous. I have a lexus, bmw, Jag and you can scan or scroll through presets.. Either you press once to scroll your presets.. or press and hold to seek through stations.. This is extremely annoying to me and I am shocked at this. I am trying to get a name of the highest person to send a letter about this.. I went into the dealership and was shocked to find more people do not complain about this.. That is the number one function I use on the car.. Thoughts?

RE: pre set stations from steering wheel

I never had a CLS and I don't know what to tell you.

But, my CLK 2001, yes even back then, came pre set stations scrolling function.

Under Setting Menu, and under radio function (all via steering wheel buttons) there's a choice on my car to choose 'station' or 'frequency'. So, by selecting either one, I could use my left steering buttons to scroll either while in Audio mode on instrument Cluster.

Again, I don't have CLS and can't really tell you about it.

My short History with MB:
GL350 BlueTec 2011 (Sold)
CLK320 Cabriolet 2001
S320 2002 (Sold)
S320L (V) 1997 (Sold)
S320 SWB 1997 (Sold)
E320 1995 (Sold)

I'd be willing to bet that you need to have your steering wheel buttons reset to stations... Look in your Settings menu. It should be there.
