Is this one of those Buyer Hoax's?

I receive your email in response on my question ask from my agent.

Iam happy to tell you that i have recomend your vehicle and it is my chosen vehicle for my thanksgiving.

Please i will like you to give me a full assurance that the vehicle engine is in great condition and there will be no tomuch cosmetic repair cost on this vehicle.

I have accepted the price of your vehicle but i need an assurance that the engine is great condition before my agent proceed in the transaction.

I have arrange with my inlaw who is a shipper in american port,so is he that will take care of the shipping cost and other related charges that will acrue in the course of the transaction.

So i made out a cashier check of ($20000)for both the cost of your vehicle, the shipping charges and his commision and other related charges like tax charges and so on.what you will reqiure to do is to deduct the cost of your vehicle which is ($12950)when you receive the payment and send the balance of($7050)to the shipper so that he will offset all the shipping charges and other related charges and also cosmetic repair cost on the vehicle.

After payment have receive and balance sent the pickup agent will come for text drive and pickup of the vehicle.

so you will be reqiured to proide the present location of the property when we conclude the finacial aspect of the transaction for pickup.

Please i will need your punctuality in this transaction so that i will use this vehicle on the thanksgiving that has been propose.

Below is the information that will be needed from you to provide for delivery of the payment,as soon as you provide the information my agent will get you updated on payment confirmation.

I came across something like this last year while selling my previous car. I was suspicious and replied with some questions, but they never answered me back.

Maybe thay want to steal your car and they are fishing for your address.

RE: Is this one of those Buyer Hoax's?

It is known in our circles as "the Bank of London" scam. Why it was called that is because it began with individuals writing bad checks on an account with the Bank of London (UK). Actually there was no money in the account since it was either closed or the checks themselves, were fakes. You would have gotten their check and deposited it. Of course, your funds would not be available for 10 days since it was an offshore account. However, when you wrote the check to them, their "agent" would immediately cash it out at your bank taking the money and leaving you stuck, not only with an unsold car but out the $7,050!

These scams are designed to be confusing so the average person would think they are on the up and up. Usually, the con artists offer you more money than you are asking for the car for "your trouble". I actually had a co-worker that almost fell for this! I advised him to steer clear, since it was much better to try to sell his truck to an actual local individual.[:)]
