Door Check S420

I would like to know if anyone has had a broken door check damage the window channel and have been able to find a body shop to repair the window channel rather than to replace the entire door?

I noticed my driver's side window not going fully into the door and when the inner door pad was removed the rubber window run was torn. Also the door check was moving back and forth in the door.

I went to a DIY day a week later and to my surprise I found out that when the door check brakes it bends the window channel and dings the outer door shell.

The worst news was the dealer' s body shop told they replace the entire door and not try to realign the window channel.
