RE: New exhaust on W124 E320
Well I noted the miles when I left the car with them. If you drive my car 60 miles you will notice a big movement on the fuel level indicator!
The exhaust was rattling against the bumper by the time I got home some 15 miles away. I called MercedesPerformance and they booked me in a few days later for an adjustment. They kept the car for 4 hours for the adjustment.
I mentioned that I was not happy about the 60 miles and they said it was standard policy for them to drive the car for a test run of at least 45 miles! I told them that was totally out of order but they stuck to their guns and said it was MercedesPerformance policy to test drive at least 45 miles even though they did 60 in mine.
To make a long story short they returned 20GBP for the petrol and gave me 2 chrome rings to stick around my heater controls! I was still unhappy because they used my vehicle for some fun which I did not authorise ... I WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN! and I will from now watch the miles before it goes into any other workshop ever again!
I originally went to have a quad exhaust but when they took the car away they claimed it was not possible because there was insufficient space. I was surprised that specialist like them would not know whether an exhaust would fit or not. I had to opt for their own sports exhaust which is just a twin nozzled muffler like the REMUS but not REMUS.
By the way...they have a studio where you drop, collect, choose and pay but their workshop is someplace secret and no customer is allowed to go there! I tried very hard but they are absolutely not prepared to allow you to observe any work on your car because of health and safety and because their technicians don't like you watching! BIZARRE!!
I will post some picture shortly.
Cheers for the comments!
