What is a good high speed tire in a 15" ??

hi guys.,

I am looking for a good high speed tire in a 15".
when I say high speed., i mean cruising at 140 or 150mph.

i live in the desert and i can cruise high speed often.

i currently have some Pirelli Cinturato 3000's.. I think they are only rated at about 112Mph.

thanks,
Kevin

Goodyear Eagle RS-A Police tire is available in a number of 15" sizes and a V (149mph) rating.

No, they don't. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that no car that takes 15" tires can go anywhere near 199mph.

I typed the wrong tire...

Falken Azenis Rt615 W rated to 199MPH+. Available in 15" sizes for the general public to enjoy.

And as for the 200MPH debate, there are quite a few modified Porsches out there willing to prove you wrong. I can't think of anything stock that will go to 200 with factory 15's... (Hell I can't think of ANYTHING stock costing less than about a quarter mil.) But there are plenty of street legal cars out there capable of 200 on 15" rims.

Of course, the question then would be, why would you want to go 200 on 15s?

For the same reason that people feel the need to put a diesel truck into the Bonneville 200MPH club... Not many people have done it. (Plus, hell for a tire capable of that speed, a 15" is pretty cheap. If cost is an issue, that is.)

Cost is an issue...interesting. So, you're saying there are people, who can afford to make their car go 200, but who draw the line on a 15" tire? Hard to believe, but that's just me.

RE: What is a good high speed tire in a 15" ??

Ever bought 28 race tires for a season? Trust me, fiscal solevency is an issue for a lot of race teams, just not most of the guys that most people are used to seeing. Look at the SCCA Pro class guys. Most of the Miatas and other factory 4 cyl guys don't have an unlimited budget and massive sponsor money. They have bills to pay, and regular jobs. They race because they love it.
