2006 ML350 -- 500 miles and transmission went out...

That happened to me this weekend. It happened to my buddy with his E-500 last month. The woman in the shop says this is happening all the time.

Anyone else hear about bad transmissions on the 2006 models?

If my transmission went out,i'd automatically follow it to see where it went. You didn't say if it came back or not-how was reverse?.Perhaps you'd been giving it too much stick?Maybe it fancied a change, some new gear or a shift of perspective?

"The woman in the shop says this is happening all the time. Anyone else hear about bad transmissions on the 2006 models?"

You don't believe her?

The E500 and ML350 transmissions have very little in common, so for "the lady" to have said that doesn't suggest that she is your SA; receptionist perhaps? An SA with any professional sense about her/him would never say that.

Why don't you tell us the whole story?

The 2006 ML350 and the E500 do have the same 7 speed transmission?

I agree more information is needed than "my transmission went out." But I read of no 7 speed transmission problems on the W211 forum.
