In the past year, I have had 3 new CDI's. I have always driven a Mercedes, either gas or diesel, but have never had more problems than with these three cars!
-Windshield replaced due to a prizm in line of view.
-Tele aid module replaced 3 times
-Instrument cluster 2 times.
-Fuel sending unit
-Engine management system
-Sunroof switch 2 times
-Brake system recall
-Transmission Module
-Dynamic seat replacement 3 times
-Constant missing at low rpms through all gears (told to use shell diesel...after 4 weeks in the shop)(all three cars did this after 5K miles, no explantion on any of them for this problem)
All of these problems were with the last car I bought new and put 17K highway miles on in 5 months.
I hated like all ----, to finally make the switch, but bought an LS430 Sport, which is exciting as dry toast, but I have had no problems in 14K miles.
Its a total shame that MB quality has plunged into the ranks of Korean cars. I have a 94E320 Cabrio with 40K miles, no problems other than new brakes and services. Lets hope we can get back to the quality of past models.

It sounds like you're an excellent candidate.
