if the key is new you might need to program this depending on which key track it was ordered, if this is an old key theres no prorgramming method if it doesnt work. try checking the batteries of the remote first.

Do you want to program your exisiting key or a used one? Just and FYI, you cannot reprogram a used one, you have to order a new one from the dealer. Just present proof of ownership / VIN. They'll order you a new Smart Key with Blade.

RE: Mercedes MBZ Keyless Entry Remote SMART KEY / SMARTKEY

The key is programmed by MB from their database, It is ordered as a "new" add-on or a replacement. The replacement wipes out the old one, my dealer (or someone)ordered a replacement and it wiped out my good one. They ordered two more. The key itself will unlock the doors but has to teach the body computer its identity. The batteries in it are only used to lock/unlock. The ignition portion is inductive energy and communicates both the start and unlock portion.
These keys can take up to 45 minutes to sync. In my case it would not turn for 20 minutes, then it would turn and start, but not keep running. The final result was that it kept on running, but had wiped my other good remote. The stuff you get on E-bay is only for "show" or your housing is scratched. Even the dealers have problems sometimes and after 24 changes certain components have to be replaced.

Hi all... I replaced my batteries in my SmartKey and now when I lock my car the car locks and the alarm goes off... when you unlock it ... it unlocks but the alarm continues to blast! Is there something in programming somewhere to reset the alarm... with the key?????
