need a mechanic in tampa fl

I just moved to (north) Tampa Fl. Selling the house and moving was no problem. Giving up our Mercedes mechanic was. If some one could recommend a mechanic I would appreciate it.

Thanks Brad

Contact Scott, the section president of your local MBCA chapter. His contact info is in the back of the STAR. He'll know who to use.

RE: need a mechanic in tampa fl

I posted a similar request recently. Below is the response I got.

I dropped my car off at A and J’s German Motor Works this morning to check out the A/C - good first impression and if you are in North Tampa, probably not far away from your house. Let me know what you find out from Scott.

RE: Recommendation for Mercedes Mechanic in Tampa, FL

There’s Ledbetters at 301 and MLK, excellent work and they’ll rob you blind if you let them. They’ll try to repair everything in the book and charge you what the dealer does. You really have to stay on top of them to keep the cost down. Don’t let them do the work the first time, you may need to come back several times to get them to realize you’re not going to spend $12,000. They take forever, but the work’s done right the first time – did excellent work on my engine the third time I came back from a ‘second opinion.’

Then there’s A and J’s German Motor Works at N. Nebraska and 109th in Tampa. They’re also very slow. They are very honest. I trust them b/c they refuse to throw parts at a problem. They refuse to do the work unless they know what the problem is. They did a great job with my high idle. They charge about $9 less then the dealer for labor.
