RE: 94 E320 Check Engine Light
Don't disconnect the battery. That could cause other issues. The errors re-set everytime you shut the car off anyway.
Has the engine harness wiring been replaced? The 92 to 95 Benzes have had a terrible problem with the wires decomposing. The insulation ends up looking 100 years old. Apparently MB had the bright idea of having recyleable wiring -- and they self recycle while you are driving. There was a stealth recall giving dollars to the stealership to spend at their discretion on this. The stealership uses the dollars only on their best customers.
Look at the wire going into the sensors at the front of the engine? If they are stiff and the insulation is breaking into little rings - that's what's happening.
I was getting a check engine for a while, then it sanrted running rough.
The harness costs $600 from the online parts houses. The whole job is $1200 or $1600 done at the dealer or an independent shop.
