trading in car

Hi I am the owner of a 1975 300D and I am thinking of trading it in for a 1984 300D. My 1975 mercedes is down for repair and I probably won't be in service for several months, it also has significant rust through the trunk, and the passenger side floor panels, and it is in desperate need of a paint job, and a new headliner, but it does have automatic transmission, powersteering,AC, power windows, vacuum locks, The 1984 mercedes has a good job, the interior is in better condition and it doesn't have any rust. I found it for $1200 here is a pic of my 1975 300D I don't have one of the 1984 300D

RE: trading in car

Scrap the 75. If you can buy the newer car in good condition the 75 probably isn't worth fixing. You can probably recoup most of your 1200 investment parting out the 75 if the drivetrain is good! It's worth more in parts than selling in running condition.
