Rich running on 200E 1997cc 1990
I have just built and fitted an engine into a 200E car, 1997cc 1990 manufactured, that I am giving as a gift to my 75 year old brother. The engine has been fine for testing for 230 miles, then suddenly runs very rich, as if I have lost the mixture control. I have fitted a new coolant temperature sensor that I believe supplies the control pressure device on the fuel distributor, the single contact one in the front of the head. But I do not know how to find out what component is causing the VERY rich running and black smoke. It happened just like throwing a light switch.
ANy ideas / help please.
