RE: How do I replace the Air Filter in my S430 or G500??
They are in the plastic engine cover. Remove the 2 air inlet hoses carfully from the front, and gently pull up the whole housing. It's pushed on in the front, and there are two on the sides (and the attached rubber ring around the mass air). You gently pull up on the front piece, but leave it attached to the rest of the housing (it can come off seperatly, but that's where most people break it). Then pull straight up from the two sides. Cover the mass airflow sensor in the back with a rag to ensure no dust gets into it. (It's that round thing with the electrical connector at the center back of the motor) Flip over the case onto a workspace, and depending on the model, unclip the holding clips to release the filter covers, and/or use the T20 torx driver, and unscrew all the screws. Remove the filters, and blow off the inside to get the residual dirt, and whatnot out, then just replace with new filters, and reverse the removal process for installation.
Don't forget to uncover the mass air sensor before putting the housing back on, and ensure that the rubber ring on the housing is properly secured back around the mass air sensor, it should slip around it snugly, or you might have drivability issues.
