Help: V-Belt replaced yesterday and Check Engine light comes on Today.
I have a '95 C280 with 67.5 K miles. As coolant was leaking I took it to Ray Catena Dealer Ship three weeks back.
They replaced the coolant pump.
Last I started hearing squeaky noise from the V-Belt region. Took it back to them they said the Belt had cracked. They replaced it yesterday.
Picked up the car yesterday evening. Today evening as I drove on the highway, the engine seemed slugish. I must have driven less than 30 miles since yesterday evening. By the time I came home , the check engine light came on. Did something get damaged when the coolant pump/ V-belt was worked on.
The O2 sensor was replaced 6 months back by the same dealership. Even back then,I had problems with their work.I picked up the car and after driving for half an hour the check engine light came on again. They had replaced the cowl grate near the ECU. They said I needed a wiring harness as the moulded plug was damaged. The car was at the dealership for 3 days, I think they damaged the car then.
It seems too much of a co-incidence that the area that gets worked on, has problems within the next few days.
Please advice what should I do.
