Water leak pass side windshield

Hey all,

I have just discovered a wet front pass carpet. It's been raining like cats and dogs here in Portsmouth, NH and have discovered a pass side leak. I checked the windshield drain, it was clogged, I cleaned, OK now. I took the inner fender out and checked out everything behind this and cleaned some leaves from out behind and everything is clear and clean now. The rubber strip that pops in from the windshield to the pass windshield drain is not functional in that is doesn't pop on any longer. Under this strip I see a small 1/16th hole that is between the bottom of the windsheild and the windshield drain.

I have taken a hose and run water, inside the engine compartment, up on the firewall, no leak. Run water down the windshield drain, no leak, run water (as best I can) in the small hole. I don't think it's leaking but that amount of water not sure. When I run water on the windshield and down toward the drain it leaks inside the car.

I drove the car home dried the inside of the car. All dry. It started to rain lightly and in no time at all it started to leak again inside.

Can anyone shed any light on this as I'm about run out of ideas to search on.

Thank you,

RE: Water leak pass side windshield

Pull wipers and the plastic screen below the windshield. You may find a rust hole in the bottom of the pan underneath. Just found mine a week ago!
