Powder Coat Vs Enamel for wheels and rims.

My OEM wheels are at the sandblaster today and I need to know how to finish them.

Pros: Powder coat is claimed to be very durable and strong for a finish. However in the hard use of wheels the surface could become compromised sometime in the future. Cost is not an issue.

Cons: With Powder coat on aluminum you get one shot as sandblasting off a failed application is not an option. So if it begins to flake the wheel is shot.

Pros: Enamel is inexpensive and widely available, and I can sandblast and repeat as many times as I choose.

Cons: Enamel is a softer finish so it will fail eventually it’s just a matter of when.

Any experienced opinions out there?
