Mercedes Becker Radio Model 780 - 1480

I have a bad Becker BE 0780 radio in my 1988 420SEL [:(] and want to replace it with a Becker 1480. It appears that the back side of both radios look the same. Like all the plugs and such are in the exact same position.

Please advise as if this transition between teh two will be a problem..

Thank you for your answers..

RE: Mercedes Becker Radio Model 780 - 1480

Hi Coastal,

I should think if the plug connectors are the same from the early one to the latter, plug it in & turn it on.

A year ago I installed a later Becker to replace my ailing Grand Prix Model 754. The connectors were identical and it was 'plug & play'.

here's a link for Becker connection decoder...

Cheers, MBL
