Good dealer story
This time my dealer impressed my favorably.
I needed to take 05 C230 Sedan to service to check a couple of things:
1. A possible leak in the exhaust system.
2. Wheel alignment.
3. Fix a minor chip on the windshield.
None of these was urgent, so I called to make an appointment for a day on which they could guarantee to put me on a loaner. -- Sure enough they gave me an appointment for two weeks later. Not a problem.
Important note on the side: My delaer is in a different city, about 60 miles away from my home town. (Its the closest MB delaer)
When I got there for my appointment, they told me the person currently driving my scheduled loaner, failed to pick up his car the night before, so the loaner wasn't there.
They offered: A "shuttle" to take me to my office (yes, about 65 miles away) and, to later deliver the loaner to me to wherever I would be. -- This sounded OK to me, but somehow, my fear was that they would drop me OK, only to later call me and tell me they wouldn't have a car to put me in.
The "shuttle" turned out to be a 04 black S500, with 2 chauffers (apparently they work in teams), I was the only passanger. They opened the door for me, gave me the newspaper to read and a cup of cappuccino to make my "commute" comfortable.
About 3 hours later another team of 2 chauffers called me from the parking lot of my office. My loaner was there. A pretty nice W210 E Class.
This is really nice, considering I have just bought my first MB, and it was "only" a C Class, I mean, I am not one of "those guys" that represent 2-3 150K+ car deals a year...
It's pretty refreshing... And something I wouln't probably had, if I had bought any other car in the same price range.
BTW, my car is still in the shop, my tech-rep, calls me every afternoon to give me a status report, and I'm still driving the W210.
