RE: New V12 Diesel S Class

What? A V12 Diesel for the S-Class? CRAP! I'm from Stuttgart working at DaimlerChrysler (S-,CL- and SLR-Test driving) and I've never heard of a V12 Diesel for the actual or upcoming S-Class this autumn! But it might be a pretty good idea *smile* I can propse this idea to our E1-supervisor...

That would be one heavy engine. One very very very heavy engine.

Sounds like overkill to me.

That is one diesel I would not want to touch after 15 years and 200K miles.

Appart from being a VERY heavy engine, it also sounds like overkill,... a V8 Twin Turbo Diesel should be enough.

In 1998 I heard a rumour of this V12 diesel,... and still nothing. I'm guessing it is just a rumour.

RE: New V12 Diesel S Class

The What Car Mag apart from saying there will be a V12 and that it will be the most powerful diesel engine in the world, are also saying an option on the car will be 4 wheel drive. The mag is out now its in the Star Cars 2005 bit. The price range for the S Class they say will be from £49K to £148K.
Dont shoot the messenger but What Car have been fairly good on future models in the past.
