squeaking steerling wheel

Squeaking when turn the steerling wheel on 1994 C220. The steerling wheel is not an adjustable one, and the squeak comes from the bottom, above the gas or brake pedal. Use my finger to touch a plastic cover which above the brake pedal, there is a spring inside, put some WD40, not works. Please advise any help.

RE: squeaking steerling wheel

Used to have the same problem on my 190E. I dismantled the steering wheel and clean the inner parts. It turned out that the culprit was the dust accumulated under the steering cover. Your problem may be the same.

Hope this helps.
