RE: Why arent there more manual trans. benzes?

Im not saying anything other then...I completely agree that he should remove that comment from his sig. Not just because its a car forum and politics dont belong in car forums..people dont wanna see Captain America ranting about republican propaganda that takes up half the page. Its a really bad first impression.

If you know enough to know the truth then just leave it alone and let him say/think/believe what he wants. It is a free country after all..but what do I know

[insert angsty response]

RE: Why arent there more manual trans. benzes?

If my memory serves me well ( oldztimers be damned - lol) Corvette has built more automatics than manuals. My C-4 was an automatic and certainly the driving experience was quite different than my friends exact car that was a stick shift. In my humble opion it was good for around town and cruzin.... but always felt a bit disconnected when things got real spirited in tight twisties - other wise.... you can "shift" an automatic and compensate to a small degree for the slush factor. Back to the original question...... seems to me that the vast majority of MB (and many other badges too)are designed for more than 2 occupants. With that in mind family luxury sedans are rarely equipped with manual trannys - at least looking at modern era automobiles. I am sure this is only a piece of a larger puzzle... but a piece, perhaps, none the less.

Short answer: They don't sell. It's not something that MB owners are asking for, so you won't see much more of them. Some vehicles DEMAND a manual trans IMHO, but not many. Everybody else doesn't have to read his signature, and an even lesser number of you have to agree with it. Get over it. I don't see anybody else bitching about others' signatures.

MBUSA brings in what it believes will sell. If more buyers requested manual transmissions, there's no doubt that they would tell the boys back in Germany to build more.

I think it would take a lot of requests to see this change much. Possibly in new models?

It's too late, they don't really make good cars anymore.

I wish my 126 was a stick.

Really? Seems out of place on a cruiser like that. 'Course I really couldn't say without driving it. [?] Probably be a blast in a R129/R230 or W140/W215.

Props to Jamison for that excellent signature. GO REPUBLICANS!!! WOOOOOO!!!! I noticed that the people who didn't like it were linguini spined east coast leftists. They should listen to some Sean Hannity, or some Rush Limbaugh who have the LOONEY LEFT figured out. HAHAHAH!!! Libs (that means LIBERALS for all you libs who haven't figured that out,) hate conservative talk radio. HAHAHAH....LIBS!!!!!!!
