Buying the right 1990 MB Model!

Looking to pick up a used 1990 MB to import back to Canada in June 2005. Any suggestions? A mechanic friend at this end recommends the 1990 300 SEC if I can find a good one? Best, Bryan

Umm..where are you importing from? There are no 300SEC's that I know of.. I'm partial to the 560SEC's through.. Rock solid car w/ ageless styling!

And I’m partial to the 126 sedans. He may have meant the 300 SE/L, a 126 sedan. It has an inline six. There were two V8 sedans the 420 and 560 SEL during that model year. Any of the 126 sedans is an excellent choice. After that I’d go for a 124 sedan, the 300 E.

If you want a 300, then go for the (124)CE. But if you are up for a bit more grunt go for a 126 (saloon or coupe) with a 500 or a 560,... avoid the 420.
