even if it does, i doubt the life of the electric motor is very long. also, the draw on your charging system would be enormous.

Many people try making some form of universal electric superchargers but all have ended up failing, hopefully this one works but it's not likely.

Keep us posted, if you decide to go for it.

Think about it. You need several hundred CFM at 4-5 PSIG minimum. That will take a few horsepower. From the looks of things, there is no way that motor can produce that much power. If it did, it would likely destroy your electrical system from the several hundred amp draw. It would also get hot, REALLY hot, in a big hurry. If this were a good idea, someone else would have done it already. The only other electric SC I've ever seen or heard of is long gone.

RE: new $1800 electric supercharger do they work

interesting concept. these people are extremely proud of the fact that they created a supercharger that you can only use once every ten minutes. It runs off of a seperate battery pack. they say it lasts about 15 seconds. then, if you upgrade your alt to a massively high output one (200 plus amps) then you can use it for another 15 seconds, about ten minutes later. its not functional to me. great if your going to run your car down a drag strip. but how about playing with someone on the highway? or autocrossing. say your driving your 210 e55 amg with one of these bad boys on it on the highway. your cruising at 60 mph... then some fool in an m5 pulls up next to you and gives you that stupid smile. you both go for it, and you tool this guy up to 90 mph. you slow down, and do it again. ok, this time your gonna show him nothing but the taillights, but you cant, because your batteries are dead... now your the one who gets wasted... i like to have fun on the street as well as tracks. if im going to dump 2500 dollars plus (yeah i know what the kits cost, but add the batteries that they dont sell, and the upgraded alt, and youve dropped alot more cash than they say) i want it to work all the time, not just for "short bursts of 10-15 seconds".

Benztech1209,

You hit the nail right on the head, I'd rather spend a bit more and go for a kleeman, HPS or Renntech conversion!!

15 seconds ---- BAH!![:(!]
