E320 "CHECK ENGINE" light

1997 E320 with 75,000 kilometers, the "check engine" light comes on for no reason, and the dash shows the message "electrical..." so I have had an oxygen sensor replaced, it did not help. I have had the light cancelled at least 10 times, but it will come on again either the same day or a week later ! very frustrating, the technition is quite good, but cannot determine the EXACT problem. car runs fine, we like it, can this problem actually be fixed, do we ignore it , or what????? thanks, Brian

RE: E320 "CHECK ENGINE" light

obviously if the technician has reset the light at least a dozen times, he is not very good. you should try another tech, at a different location. second opinions never hurt. also, check engine lights never come on for "no reason". and just because it drives just fine doesnt mean that there is something wrong. you should not ignore it, as it could cause larger and more costly problems in the long run.
