RE: disc brake pads
the dealership prices are not outrageous. first of all, you pay for what you get. your mercedes was not cheap, why would it be to maintain it? also, a dealership has alot more overhead to support that joe's garage down the road. joe might have 4 or 5 bays, but my dealership has 65, with an additional 25 bays being constructed across the street. we also have loaner cars free for your convienience, on site.
not to mention a much larger selection of mercedes benz oem parts so you wont have to wait a day or two for a part. not to mention if joe does get the part from us, and its 150$ from us, its now 175$ from joe.... there are alot of advantages to going to a dealership. the only disadvantage is the price. but then again, you get what you pay for.
