where can I buy them?
speaking of xenon headlights... why are the xenon
headlights on BMWs and Audis always seem much brighter
than the ones on the Mercedes? (comparing light
projected on the ground)

The only thing I know that's "better" or a higher color temp I think you're looking for, is the Philips 85126+ bulbs at 5000K instead of the factory 4100K. These are still DOT, and should be slightly "bluer" (whiter?) than the stock bulbs. All are still 35 watt to keep the ballast happy. Higher color temps are even bluer or purple, but the higher the temp, the less light. No getting around that. The stock 4100K is the "best" after lengthy testing I'm sure, but the 5000K I've seen looks brighter to me. I have a pair of the "+" bulbs I just got on Ebay for $85.00 brand new. I'm about to do a side by side test.

I would recommended 6000k Philips Ultinon Xenon kit. I've just install the kit onto my 2005 w203K, and the lights is a lot brighter than my halogen lights. I paid $435+ shipping for this kit, and I think it's worth it. The kid can be found at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7933189108&catego ry=36476
Although installation is as easy as buying the OEM kit.

Are you sure? I beg to differ. So far I haven't seen a car with brighter light than mine (8000K - 35W which I bought for $560 from Germany). Don't get me wrong, I am not saying there aren't, I just haven't seen one. Next time I pull my car out, I will try to post a pic.

As the color temp increases, the actual lumens decrease. So your bulbs are "dimmer" in the truest sense of the word. To me, the stock 4100K temp doesn't "look" brightest, that's for sure. As far as I know, the "+" Philips bulbs I ordered are really the only things that are still legal, but I'm not too concerned about that. Do you have any pics comparing the stock bulbs to the 8000K?
