That is one the reason those Jap mobiles are so boring THEY NEVER DIE !!!
Tell that to the Toyota owners with the '96-03 sludge making V6. Not only are you racist (Jap???), you're funny too!

Find a Toyota or Honda with over 1 million miles on it....maybe 600K....????

You won't find any. The only vehicles out there with over a million miles I've found are Volvos, Mercedes, and a couple of GM trucks. Google 'Irv Gorden' then try googling just 'one million mile Toyota'........

I've helped enough of my friends fix their Toyota or Nissan. No thanks.
In the Indian subcontinent there are thousands of toyotas and hondas with well over a million miles on them (specially corollas). Infact my 1985 Suzuki SJ410 is in the 2 million mile category now and still going strong.[;)]

How many miles do you think this car has left before it goes?

RE: toyata/honda vs benz

That Toyota looks like my old 1977 240D Benz after it got rear ended by a dump truck [V]. I used a coat hanger to lock the trunk, and wired the rear brake lights in place, until I purchased a 1978 280E Mercedes.

My comment is about the 2004 Acura TL, a way cool $35,000 car [:p]. If you go to the Acura TL chat rooms, you'll notice a considerable number of concerns on these highly rated cars, before they ever get wet. Consumer Reports rates the 2004 Acura TL number one in the class of Luxury Sports Sedans.

1) Lots of rattles and shakes, both interior and body
2) Geez [?] - the 270 horse power engine doesn't get the gas mileage promised in the sales brochure.
3) The transmission commonly fail and the transmission was eventually recalled.
4) They get ignored and snubbed at the dealership.
5) The drivetrain vibrates at certain RPM's

Except for the transmission - these problems are embellishments on a 26 year old Mercedes-Benz. however, if I paid $35,000 for a car, that's a different story, and I'd be ranting in the chant rooms.

My brother has a similar passion for the Honda Accord that we do for Mercedes. He refers to Mercedes-Benz as a car for old guys, which I'm starting to resemble. [|)]

I fail to see how one can feel for Honda what we feel for Mercedes-Benz. [xx(]

RE: toyata/honda vs benz

i agree with you . I am the orignal thread starter and an owner of a honda. I think honda make the best looking , interior and exterior good looking , dependable cars and are a great all-arounder, but they don't have that specialness that you can feel unique about like a benz. Benz are probably not that great on the interior, but they are unique and they make you have feelings for... because of the underlying transmission and engines and steering is of very high quality and the whole well engineered packaged makes you feel special . anyway thats my take peace out.
