Everything you ever wanted to know

http://www3.mercedes-benz.com/omb/amg/index_start.htm

Basic answer to your question is

AMG = Hans Werner Aufrecht (A) and Erhard Melchan (M) and the (G) is for Grossaspech, the town Hans grew up in.

some say

All

What some enthusiast overlooks is the AMG philosophy of "one man, one engine"

G one

LOL...u got that right! But how can I tell some idiot didn't just badge the car with a fake plate? I thought it would be because AMG's don't have the glow lights on the inside of the door...i later found out the non-glowing AMG stamp/mark is an option if that's what you prefer.

Well there are many reasons you can "tell" if someone just badged it.

The clear cut sign is when an AMG pulls up to a Badged only Merc and when the light turns green and they watch the real one fade away, ahead in the distance.

It's a typo

It was really supposed to be OMG 'cuz when the driver puts his foot into it, all you can do is say 'Oh My God', OMG [:D][:D][:D][}:)]

I like the MTI's definition too...
