anyone here gone to the dark side and driven a new BMW 6er?

holy shit over the holidays i drove the new beemer 6 series.

oh my god, this car is freakin amazing.
it has THE BEST brakes, ive ever experienced, and its brute strength was just amazing.
ive driven the new m3(for 5 minutes, but still) and this standard 6 series, to me, totally raped it. i think it gives the CL 500 some serious competition.
actually what would mercedes competing model with this beemer be? a clk kompressor or something?
anyway who else has driven the new 6 series?
whatd you think? amazing brakes? awesome rip off the pedals?
i cant beleive im talking so highly about a poor mans mercedes, but hell this car is nicicccceeee

It's a nice car, I especially like the triple black ones with some chrome wheels.

RE: anyone here gone to the dark side and driven a new BMW 6er?

try comparing it with mercedes-benz 500SL.

the brakes:
the E63 still uses the old system invented half a century ago.

the W230 is using SBC (servotronic Brake Control). it is a "brake by wire". the computer and motor controls them all.

let's say you stop on a downhill road, forget to put it on P or apply the parking brake... and open the door. the SBC will do the rest for you.

the engine:
strip the engine off and from the first external look... a very far different feeling on which is new design or old. W230 got this better... outside and inside.

the body:
how many total control units they have? E63 only got half compared to W230.

compare the price by car weight. you are paying more quality per kilo of high technology on mercedes-benz.

it's just my opinion. i am looking at technical side. on handling and driving... that depends on.....
