how much to pay for a 2005 C230

Hello, newbie here... great site.

My first question is, i'm in the market for a 2005 C230 kompressor sedan and i was at a dealer in los angeles that offered me $34,600 out the door including tax & lic. fee. Options were automatic trans, xenon lights, entertainment package, silver metalic paint, & sunroof package. My final offer was for $33,000 out the door.

Is my offer too low? or can the dealer still come down on their out the door price?

FYI tax in CA is 8.25 and lic/reg fee was around $270.

i was wondering how much have people been paying for their 2005 c230's.

thanks.

That sounds like a good deal to me, considering you have the more expensive paint AND the entertainment package. I bought mine from fletcher jones in newport beach, and paid a bit less but WITHOUT the entertainment package. Its hard to haggle on the 2005's considering they JUST came on the lots. I doubt he would do $33,000 out the door, but hey, its worth a shot!

I should add I dont have xenon's either, but I had to finance most of the car, I don't know if that made a difference in price, cause my interest rate was only 2.9%, so maybe they jacked my selling price a bit higher to make up for the low rate? Either way, Im 23 driving a new Mercedes, not complaining.

I was planning on going to fletcher jones in newport beach this week to see if maybe being a larger volume dealer, they can cut me a better deal.

Another info that the salesperson told me was that, on the 2005 models, MB will only do your first 13,000 mile service for free and the next ones are not. IS THIS TRUE?

RE: how much to pay for a 2005 C230

I dont recommend fletcher jones AT ALL. That's where I ended up buying my C230 sedan. For one, you will be treated like a second class citizen for buying a C class. The salesman practically acted like I was wasting his time. I showed up, asked to see the 2005 C230 sedans, and I could almost hear him sigh like he was so put upon to show me "just" the C class. Finally he said, "I dont want to waste your time or mine, so come back in once your father is ready". This was after showing me THREE cars for FIVE minutes. (he said this cause I needed my dad to cosign the loan) They WILL NOT haggle at Fletcher Jones. The price is what it is, basically. Its in newport beach, they arent used to people (gasp!) trying to save money. You might be thinking, "then why the hell did you give them business?" I was in a position where I literally needed a car that day, so Fletcher Jones did beat the other Benz dealer in my area (not by much) so I had to take the offer. The only positive was they seemed to charge a reasonable price for the extended warranty, $1500, I believe. Other than that the experience was pretty crappy to be honest. It was night and day compared to going into Infiniti and looking at the G35. I mean, the guy at Infiniti wanted to order pizza and hang out. At fletcher jones I felt like just another number. And for how huge fletcher jones is, they didnt have that many C230's. Only two in brilliant silver, one in black. I ended up getting black cause the brilliant silver ones were out of my price range, too many options.
