thinking of buying one for $15000 100,000 miles extra clean is this a good value

I would rather have a car that has been used than one that sat. As with any car, certain items will wear out. Have a mechanic (preferably one familiar with MB's) check out the car. Check the belts, hoses, look at the fluids and tire wear. Use a magnet to check for body filler. Invest in a carfax report. If all checks out, this car will give you another 100 to 200,000 miles.

Good car, but alot of weight for that small engine to move around. Also consider the S430 and S500 of the same vintage. By 97 most of the bugs were worked out of the W140 series.
