RE: Mercedes 190 Convertible

For that price I can see this turing into a SERIOUSLY HUGE project very quickly.

Good luck.

RE: Mercedes 190 Convertible

Wow. For rarity value that's going to be hard to beat. If I was weaker on self-control I'd be making you an offer, even if driving a windowless 190 convertible from Scotland to London would take some doing...

As it is, in your position, I'd go looking for a crashed or MOT failed 190E, and transfer the window glass and powerplant/gearbox over to your rare beast: the injection engine is just so much nicer. What would worry me most about that as a project is the condition of the roof, and how much it would cost to replace the fabric - one of my car park neighbours has a 1981 BMW 316 Baur convertible, in stunning condition, but he can't drop the fabric part of the roof down for fear of it cracking and ripping.

London, right in the middle
03 CL500 (Black/Grey, 48k, Comand, 7GTronic, Keyless Go) 302 Bhp
01 E430 (Silver/Black, 112k, Comand, Lingua, 7 seats, tow...) 275 Bhp
97 SLK (40k, Yellowstone, partner's car!) 200 Bhp
03 A210 AMG (Black/Black, 63k, project rescue car) 140 Bhp

...I make that 917 Bhp...!

you are incorect to assume there is no such thing as a 4 door convertible
Is there a car that comes from the factory as a 4 dorr convertible?

RE: Mercedes 190 Convertible

Aren't sedans and limos like that called laundaulets?

I know the 600 Pullman was available with a "convertable area" for the back passengers, hence making it an extremely rare laundaulet. It was factory.
