Suspension spacers?

My 1996 C180 has a set of low profile alloys which were on it when I bought it. The previous owner had also lowered the suspension ludicrously. Apart from the fact that it's not really my style, the wheels rub against the wheel arches when I'm anything more than half lock.

I don't really want to go to the hassle/expense of fitting new springs so I was wondering whether some kind of spacer could be fitted. Are these available, if so how easy are they to fit and are they any good?

RE: Suspension spacers?

There are such spacers available but they are for trailer applications and for 4x4s with soggy suspension. I have a set I sometimes use on my jeep when I have to tow another car or something.(you just slip them onto the springs)

For your applicaiton I'd sugest getting new springs and never look back to the spacer idea, unless your car is on a level one spring pad, if that is the case you can use an original mercedes spring pad but you will have limited options, and I'm not too sure if your suspension will accept the Spring pads from a W210. (sorry not too familiar with the C).

Here are the spring pad numbers

5mm 210 321 0184
9mm 210 321 0284
13mm 210 321 0384
17mm 210 321 0484
21mm 210 321 0584

Hope I helped in some way.

RE: Suspension spacers?

Never heard of "Air lift bags"?
They make em...around $50.00 or so.
They fit inside the coil springs....if you have Struts they have a (Helper Spring) model.
These are great!

Persistance is "KEY" !
