trunk lock sticking

Has anyone had problems with their trunk lock button 'sticking' to the point that they can't open the lid? ('86 560sl) Someone suggested never using the key on the trunk... locking it by locking the drivers door.

Mine is stuck, and I need to 'unstuck' it.

How do I do this?

RE: trunk lock sticking

squirt some releasing oil in the lock through the key hole and work it with the key till it clears, WD40 is what i use you might need to leave it for a while till it soaks in, its a very common fault because most people never service the locks on their cars if they have remote locking it should be done aprox every 6 months to prevent them fouling up
