RE: The New C55 AMG!
Blah blah blah torque down low, typical talk from a Viper owner!
I think if they can do it, they should go ahead and do it. There are people who will want it and buy it. Think back 50 years ago, if you told a car maker back then that we'd have commercially availible and street legal 600+hp cars, they'd laugh at you and ask you what for? The power to muscle cars from the 60s and 70s have no more, if not less power than the average car today. There's a car for every niche. I'm a fan of the mid-range, inline-6 engine power, that screaming purr of an engine pulling you out a turn. Mr. Viper there likes his gut wrenching, neck snapping off the line torque. Some people like a little whiney turbo charged 4 banger under the hood. But others might want that burbling V8 pinned under the bonnet. Different strokes for different folks, auto makers are just trying to cater to every taste.
