What is it that bothers you most about other Benz owners?
Mine is where they put badges on their car that do not belong on there. Example S430 AMG, Changing a C230 sports sedan to a C32 AMG, and such things of that nature.
Like we don't notice! [^] People make me sad sometimes. They bought the car, they should be happy with their purchase. If they want the type of car that they are willing to "make" they should quit being cheap, and buy it. My personal favorite was when I saw a 190E 2.3 with "E500" badged on instead. [xx(]
I HATE when people change emblems. I know it doesnt' apply to MB owners but,I notice a lot of V6 Ford Mustangs with Cobra Emblems. I always make sure to blow their doors off at the next stoplight.
I was at the dealer the other day when a gentleman was trying to get them to "upgrade" his new E to the E55 body kit. Pretty funny, they came up with a bunch of excuses why it wouldn't be simple and would cost a fortune. Not sure if that is true or not, but I suspect they thought this was more polite than saying NO.
MB has ruined the AMG name by offering AMG items on non-AMG cars. Think how exclusive M-Power is on BMW. They don't sell the various parts as add-ons to the base models.
what if you have the sports package with the AMG rims?
but not changing the engine for instance leaving the SL 500 but putting AMG on ? i feel that this is acceptable but not with changing the C230 to a C32....
I agree, I simply don't need all of the AMG performance items for a daily driver, though I could've used them today when a CL55 pulled up next to me on I-275.....

I don't think any of the AMG parts should be available as an option or dealer accessory unless you have the true AMG model. My opinion only, but the M-Powered cars are highly esteemed and very unique. The true AMG models lose out b/c the abundance of AMG parts that can be slapped on a regular model. You almost HAVE to look for the badge when it should be obvious from 100 yards away that a true Mercedes AMG is heading your way. I'm not a bean-counter, but I bet MB would sell more complete AMG cars if they did this.
With all the comments on M-power, just so that many of you know, the Sport packages on the older 5s and possibly even the new ones too, if you had the "Sport" package, that meant you got the M steering wheels with the M logo on it, and the M logo on the wheels, as well as a few other trim items.
I plan on putting many things onto my car that are AMG badged parts, will I be putting the AMG badge onto the trunk deck? No. I think that trunk deck badge should be reserved for cars with true AMG performance.
Besides folks, you're already driving a Benz, be proud of that, many many people envy you for it.
Pet peeves of mine, I hate people, (this goes for most expensive cars) who think they own the road. I saw a guy in a S500 the other day pull up to 4 way stop, pause, not even worry about other cars and proceed on, he nearly hit 2 other vehicles. He didn't even look around, or touch the brakes when he realized there were other cars there or anything. Just kept on cruising like nobody else exsisted. I hate drivers like that, if they are in a Benz, people start thinking all Benz owners are arschlochs, if a Bimmer driver does it, then all Bimmer owners are arschlochs. And this isn't true, there are many nice people who own these cars, just look at this forum and you'll know that.
This is why whenever I am out driving, I am as courteous as possible, I wave people through the intersection, I slow down to let trucks onto the highways that way they don't have the do the "Well, looks like I'm going to have to merge on top of them and hope they move" deal. Maybe if just one person in his Benz ca be nice and dispell the myth we're all arschlochs, then maybe the few bad apples won't build such a bad reputation for us.

Very well put there, Tubs. [:)]
As for me, well since Tubs already mentioned one of them, the other is that I simply don't like to see any good car (MB or not) not taken care of or abused.
