Hi,

I have a 1991 300E and the stereo has no lights working. I am trying to figure a solution to fix/upgrade it.

Is the stock stereo a Bose stereo?
Can the lights be fixed on them?
Can a CD Changer be connected to the stock stereo?
If none of the above can be done, then I was thinking about buying an after market CD stereo deck. Is there anything that I should watch out for if I was to do this? And what make and model works well with the 300E?

Thanks folks.

What you do is to perform a search on Ebay for "Becker radio". You could see some pictures and model #.

My 1991 560 SEL has a BE1432 and it has an CD controller function. The system is actually rather complicated. The unit in your dash board is only a control unit. There should be a turner in the trunk and two amp behind your back seat.

I am very interested in any information about changing to an aftermarket unit. Please post your results.
