Ceramic Paint

Does anyone know when the more durable ceramic paints were introduced on the new MB"s?

Thanks,

RE: Ceramic Paint

I think it will become available this summer with the facelift of the c-class (european market) and possible later this year in the US as a 2005 model. I don't know when other models will come available with this promising new paint system. The paint contains microscopic ceramic particles and is supposed to be 3 times more durable as the conventional paint.

RE: Ceramic Paint

It's actually the clear coat that has changed. Those who have it, say it is an improvement over the previous clearcoat. The C215 has had the new clear coat since mid 2002. The R170 and W230 have had it since July 2003 (my 10/03 built R170 has it). Check out this thread for more details. You should also find an article in the publications section and various other threads in the forum on the topic.
