how to change hood star?

I need to change the hood star on my 123, it looks like it just pushes in but I do not want to damage surrounding area, any tips on removal and installation?

Need to grab the locking clip under the star under the hood with a pair of pliers and rotate it 90°. That allows you to remove the star. Then you insert the new one and rotate the locking clip 90° to secure it in place. It should be pretty evident once you have the new one in hand.

You need to squeeze the locking clips inward so it can rotate as I remember
