What year is your car? What is the mileage? Where do you live? Elevation plays a huge part in your cars performance. If you are at a high altitude, your 420's acceleration will suck.

I recently took a trip to Albuquerque NM, and almost got killed at a few left turns.

RE: 420 Sel Engine

Remember at sea-level all those 300D/SD's that were slugs, and could never out accelerate a gas car and lost power on hills?

Well, when the elevation changes, the turbo diesels never lose a bit of performance. Instead the turbo spools up faster to create the same amount of boost pressure and allow the same amount of fuel injected to be compressed and ignited. Gotta love them turbos.

At elevations 6K +, a 300D/SD turbodiesel 5-cylinder 3.0 liter will be one of the most powerful cars on the road.[:D]

A turbodiesel can make everyday driving enjoyable. Its the car for the Tibet Plateau(well, maybe that's a stretch unless you have a bigger turbo).

The only thing you may notice is more turbolag as the exhaust gas starts to drive the fins.

I know this message was not helpful, but you need to be more specific of the symptoms.
