Help me decide! :)

Mercedes S600 (V12 biturbo) or BMW 760Li

I cant make up my mind between these two cars.

What I need :
* Car for toting around clients - M is a little cramped :(
* Luxury & Brand recognition
* Has to be quick enough that I will still like going from my M to it
* Has to be sporty for me but not so sporty that people cant ride in it ... 7er-sport pkg gives my fiance a headache but she can deal with it
* Has to look good on me.. I am only 21 so I dont want to look old

Mercedes Pros / Cons :
+ Short trip to Brabus/RennTech/Kleeman and the car has 700hp
+ RennTech S600 runs 11s in the quarter
+ Mercedes brand is more known for luxury than BMW
+ Drive dynamic seats are nice
+ I like the Keyless go features
+ Stereo can be ripped out and upgraded with something better
+ front styling is more aggressive than the 7-er
+ Engine from factory has a LOT of torque
+ Adjustable suspension is nice
+ Adjustable seat massage
- Starts @ 123K ... Specced @ 146K :thumbdwn:
- Most options are standard on 7-er
- Dont like the controls in the car
- Very outdated interior feel
- Clunky switches and door close
- Might look too old in this car
- Even at hardest setting, suspension is very floaty
- Sport package feels like non-sport 7-er
- Interior is sub-par compared to the 7-er
- Feels a LOT larger than the 7-er

BMW Pros / Cons :
+ Love the styling but not as aggressive as the Merc
+ Sport package is VERY nice to drive and reminds me of the handling in the M
+ I love gadgets and this car has nothing but gadgets
+ Still feels nimble in corners
+ LOVE the climate controls
+ PERFECTLY confortable seats
+ Very ergonomic styling
+ Very updated interior
+ Exquisite gauge cluster
+ Alpina makes the B7 version :)
+ Soft close doors are great
+ Probably better engineered engine
+ Four place seating is included
+ Most options are standard....
+ Starts @ 117K ... Specced @ 122K
- First generation of new platform and thus problems
- Non adjustable massage
- Might look too old in this car
- Good luck changing out the stereo....ever
- Styling is hit/miss for most people
- Not sure if there will ever be upgrades for the V12

VS

Thanks ALL

The Mercedes would have a better ride on the highway, since BMWs tend to have more feedback from the road. Clients would probably prefer the mercedes.

As for looking good on you, go for the AMG Sport Apperance Package.

BMW vs Mercedes
A BMW is like a racing glove, more aggressive(driving). A Mercedes is like a formal glove, more elegant & refined. Both are fine leather, you have to pick the one that suits your needs.

More to come later...

You’ll impress the clients with the MB (trust me)

The bimmer will make you look like you’re trying too hard…

Go with the S600. The clients dont want the rough suspension of the Bimmer. You seem to be a lawyer, so if money isnt much of a problem, get the S600, it makes you look more serious, and get a suit to match the interior.[8D]

The new BM's seem to be trying too hard, go for a merc, firsthand I can tell you that the BM 760 can't touch the new 600 Biturbo engine.

Still, in the end it's just a suggestion.

Good luck[8D]

the BMW styling is questionable. that's alot of money for a car some say is ugly. that wouldn't make me feel too proud.

RE: Help me decide! :)

You are asking for a luxury / sports car that has a good ride.....unfortunetly there can never be a balance. Personally I think that both the 760 and S600 are not the best cars. Mercedes has a lot of issues with their 12 cylinder engines. My friend had a CL600 (brand New) and the engine had so many problems that he terminated the lease. If I were you I would get the new Audi A8. The interior far beats the S600, and it looks good. The wood inside the car is very elegant, and way better navigation than the BMW or merc. There is a lot of room in the back, and another great thing about this car is the AWD. You can bring clients around in the winter with no problem at all. You can also change the suspension on this car from dynamic to a more smooth ride. To me it sounds like the audi A8 is the best choice for you, and at $80,000 this car can be replaced every 3 years. I was very impressed when I first saw this car, and I would not worry about clients thinking any less that it is an audi not a merc. Trust me, they too will be impressed with this car.

RE: Help me decide! :)

Since the S is in use as Taxi-cabs (where i'm at), i would not go for it.Big con...! The Bimmer is the best Bimmer, but it looks weird with the new front.

If it is for driving clients, you need the Brabus version of the Maybach (700hp). It is far more rare and exclusive. With those big comfy flight-seats with leg-rests in the back, they will have a good time.

And the engine build quality of the Merc is not poor compared to the Bimmer,it's the other way around.

S-Class=Taxi
BMW7=Ugly
Maybach rules...!

Hi.

Brian has a good point.
But if it is performance and luxury
that he's after then the S8 is a better
choice.
Same body as the A8 but a more horses
and better handeling.
