SL500 Right Side Headlight very dim (Please Help)

I would like to get your input on the following issue.

My 1997 Mercedes SL500, has had two sets of 9004 Eurodezign HID look alike bulbs fitted in it. Each time, only after one week of installation, the passenger side bulb stopped working, an I thought burned out. In removing it, I noticed that only the right headlight socket was melting at where it makes contact to the bulb. While waiting for the second new set to arrive, I put back the original Halogen bulbs with no fault at all until the new set of Eurodezigns HID arrived. In the second time of installation, again both lights worked fine, and again for one week only, then the right side went out again. I have pulled the light out and tested it, it lights up fine and tests OK, but when I plug it to the vehicle the right side bulb is dim. Now even with the original Halogen bulbs installed, the right side lights up very dim on both low & high beam. There is no sign of new melting on the socket, the
fuses are all fine. What do you think this is caused by?

Any input you can provide me is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Andy

Those bulbs are usually rated at a wattage that is too high for a typical stock wiring harness, therefore causing high heat, and therefore causing failure in the housing.
