I need some H-E-L-P!!!!!

Alright, so I'm pretty new to this, I just purchased a 1987 190d, and I love it!! Anyways, it has a skylight, and unfortunately, I went to open it the other day, and the switch on the dashboard pushed inside its hole and I can't figure out how to get behind the dashboard to fix it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about, and maybe know how I can get behind the dash to push it back out. I can't figure out a good place to go in...any tips would be lovely!! Thank you!! [?]'

Oh and also, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a dimmer switch for the lights inside, including the dashboard lights??

You’ll have to remove the ACC unit to find the lost switch and replace it. From what I read that seems to be what’s needed…..

Thank you!! I'm going to try to fix that switch tomorrow! It really bugs me that I won't be able to use the sunroof!! Hopefully this works!!!

Does anyone know how to take the glove box lining out? It could be pretty easy, but I don't know for sure.

I know what you mean…

The winter and early spring is the best time to use the sunroof. [;)]

Yes, I’m a cruel bastard… [}:)]

In fact, it’s starting to get too hot for the s/r and we’re using the A/C now. [:D][8D]

Off topic but remember to run the A/C at least once a month with our older systems, even in winter – it keeps the seals and fittings lubed; if not the seals will dry out. [:(!][xx(]

Hi Ali.

The glove box liner should be easily
removable,some small screws all around
the inside edge.

The dimmer is that little black nob on
the gauge cluster.
Turn to dim, push for trip reset.

Louis.

RE: I need some H-E-L-P!!!!!

Thanks for the good advice on the AC, I'll be sure and run it every once and a while. Other than that, I'm finding this old Benz to be quite exciting. I just had a Sony CD player installed, so that's awesome. Also, thanks for helping me with the dimmer switch, I would have never guessed!!!! [:)]
