Need Help Buying Mecedes

Hi. I went to a dealership that is not Mercedes-Benz dealership and saw CLK500. I thought it was so hot and looked into the price tag. The 2003 CLK500 with 15K miles were 50K. The problem is that is it ok to get a mercedes-benz in a dealership that is not mb dealership[8)]?

I don’t see why not as long as you have the car checked out by a mechanic you trust.

I'd echo what JDC said. In my case, the local Audi dealer had taken the E420 in on a trade. Also, the car had originally been bought locally, so I could check at the MB dealer for service records. So, yeah, if it's a reputable dealer and the car checks out, go for it.

I would agree with this statement. But, you might want to check out 'certified' used cars from a benz dealer. I think they come with a 100,000 total mile warranty. Can anyone verify this?

RE: Need Help Buying Mecedes

Starmark Extended warranty can only be purchase if you buy a preowned car from an authorized MB dealer. It is almost the same as a OEM/new car warranty( no radio, stereo and phone coverage) and it has no deductible. Most of the preowneds are Starmark certified with additional 1 year/100K(which ever comes first) miles warranty on top of the remaining warranty. You do have the option to purchase additional warranty up to 3 years/100K miles. If you plan to keep the car well pass the original warrenty, then you should serious consider Starmark certified cars from the MB dealer. One thing for sure, Starmark warranty won't go out of business like many other aftermarket insurance companies. Also no deductible and no hassle filing claims. Good luck.

Pslee: So, what did you decide on?

Personally speaking, after having extended three year warranties with BMW, I got spoiled! So, I HAD to buy my MB with an extended Starmark Warranty through a local MB dealership. I'm a firm believer in "Murphy's Law!" [8D]
