ML320 Nagivation System

I just recently became the proud owner of a 2000 ML320 (my first Mercedes). I love this car but wish it had the navigation system. I have seen several systems for sale on E-Bay and was wondering which system to install (CD or DVD). Does the DVD nav system play DVD movies too?

RE: ML320 Nagivation System

My understanding of DVD vs CD-Rom Nav systems is that the DVD system has the capability of holding substantially more maps on the one disc. In European terms, it means that most of Europe can be stored on one DVD while with a CD-Rom system you have to change disk when changing countries. I imagine in the States this would mean different CD-ROMS for different States. So I would certainly go for a DVD based system.

As to which specific system to go for, I don't know, hopefully someone will be able to offer a more informed opinion on this.

RE: ML320 Nagivation System

I'm in the same boat. I've got a 2000 ML320 and am looking for the DVD equipemnt, antenna and wiring as well as detailed instructions on how to install... Anyone find this yet? The howto in this forum isn't detailed enough in my opinion... Is there a guide that shows dealership techs how to do the upgrade?
