Ebay rip off.

Hi to all members.

This is to warn all members to look out,
refrain your self from buying parts on
EBAY from a seller called.

All one and the same person.
Yes,his prices are low but he has
stiffed a few members on other forums
and had them barred from ebay.

RE: Ebay rip off.

E-Bay = Buyer beware. This is helped by human's natural tendency to overlook the fact that they want something for nothing, not that you can get nothing for something. Put another way, people have a natural tendancy to try and get a good deal and this sparks some kind of greed mechanism that nullifies common sense.

RE: Ebay rip off.

You are so right.

But this guy takes the cake.

The forum member wins a part from
him, pays with paypal and gets confirmation
of payment.
Then "bigbabbo/importbaron/benzbaron" doesn't
ship part won.
Member,after numerous emails,stops payment.
Then "bigbabbo/importbaron/benzbaron" flips
out,but admits in negative feedback not having
shipped item,starts calling member 10X a day,
all hours of the day.
Then "bigbabbo/importbaron/benzbaron" somehow
gets member barred from ebay and slanders
Also "bigbabbo/importbaron/benzbaron" has ebay
delete 70% of this negative feedback.
There is lots more but I don't have the time
or the space to list all incidents.

Sellers like that should not be allowed to
profit from unsuspecting buyers and should
be avoided like the plague.

Wow, This guy is at lest good at something, shame it has to be bad. I feel for you and all of the others that have been ripped off. The wife and I once bought a house sized dehumidifer advertised as brand new unused. When it finally showed up it was used, full of dirt and a POS. We had payed 75% cost of brand new.

Hey Louis: You're not alone! Most of us at some point in time have bought goods that have been misrepresented or sold by "condition-impaired" sellers. [8)]

It's a painful process at times. But usually a good learning experience. Hope you weren't too badly hurt financially.

RE: Ebay rip off.

Hi Shawn.

Thank you.

But it didn't happen to me,but a member
of the mercedesshop forum.

The worst part is that "importbaron/benzbaron/
bigbabbo" seems to know the ebay rules really
well and uses them in his advantage.
Somehow he manages to make the bidders look
bad and have ebay punish them.

But what to do:you pay for the item
then seller never sends the item?
After weeks of emails that never get
aswered you try to recover your money.
Good that ebay has a system to recover some
of your money when this happens, but when
you leave negative feedback for this person
he flips out and gives it a twist, saying you
stopped payment and it is your fault and not his.
On top of that he has ebay remove the negative
feedback left for him and leaves negative
feedback for you plus a nasty message to booth.
And since the feedback for him is altered, you
end up being the one that looks bad.

I have learned not to buy parts thru ebay.
I buy parts at www.performanceproducts.com
(site sponsor) or www.mercedessource.com
or www.importedcarparts.com
I have a limited budget so I need to buy
the best parts possible for the best price

I have bought parts at PP and MS but not yet
at importcp's
In both cases I received good service.
Some people like www.fastlane.com
(mercedesshop site sponsor)for their quick
delivery(1-2 days)good service and free
shipping over $100.
But unfortunately some parts end up being
$20+ more expensive.
I'm not in a hurry and don't mind waiting
a few extra days for my order if I can save

I,in no way intend to bash or favour anyone.
Just like these businesses need to take care
of the bottom line,so do I.

In case of "importbaron/benzbaron/bigbabbo"
he just plainly rips people off and we
should avoid him like the plague and
try to educate and inform others.

Since people like this only understand one
thing($$$$$$$)the only way to stop them,
is to stop buying from them and make them feel
it where it hurts.

RE: Ebay rip off.

to your question - i searched the net for two days, comparing prices for a new Behr radiator, thermostat, and a few other small things. Lowest price, by some margin, was found at www.importedcarparts.com.
Parts arrived earlier than i expected, with everything in good shape. this was just a one time deal, but their prices for other items seem good. i would not hesitiate to go back to them.

I guess I was lucky with BenzBaron.
Admittedly, I bought courtesy light fixtures, not a high dollar item. But they were brand new and arrived perfectly in 4 days from bidding.
