I have been seeing news, articles and online messages, claiming that M-B recent models suffer from quality and reliability problems. Is it really that bad? I mean is M-B really going down? If this is as serious as it seems, them M-B is in real trouble....
It seems that Lexus/Toyota is topping all car quality/reliability survey.......
I have a 190E 2.6 1991 model.....I guess W201 was one of the last well-built M-B, following the W124.
RE: Quality/reliability problems in recent M-B models
Yes it has. I have an 03 G500 and what a disaster. Worst part is Mercedes Serice is going downhill. It isn't what it used to be. I would hold on your car. It's one of the last years of rock solid reliablity.
Mercedes warranty expenses has tripled. The company isn't run by engineers anymore.

RE: Quality/reliability problems in recent M-B models
at least they have realised the problem and are working on it. according to a press release in december 2003.
it is a shame that bean-counters took over.
i think the second version of the w210 is the last good benz built.
