Switching Headlamps on a 2004 E Class w211

Hi, I would like to start off by saying hi to everyone on this forum, this is my first time on the site, and my first post.

I purchased my 2004 E320 without Xenon lighting.

I have just recently purchased the Xenon Headlamps, I tried removing the bumper, but got stuck around the fender area, I also plugged in the headlamps, and when I turn the car on, it flickers, do I have to get the car reprogramed for Xenon Headlamps?

If anyone could help on removing the bumper, that would be great, I was able to remove one headlamp, but I cannot put it back in now.

Thank you in advance

Alex

RE: Switching Headlamps on a 2004 E Class w211

I can't help you with the bumper problem but I can tell you that xenons will flicker until the computer is reset to "xenons present".

Sometimes you can turn the lights on first and then start the car, and the lights should stay on.

When you start the car first and then turn on the lights, the onboard computer does not know what to do!
Thus, the lights flicker!

Replacement is not for the faint of heart, unfortunately!
