Not a bad idea, but small block v8s are more common so people know what you're doing, Mazda rotaries are lighter and the RB series(skyline) is mucho cooler and the 2JZ(supra) has better power potential.
it would probably be easiest to turbo the stock engine in your car and cooler to drop in a AMG motor but for outside motors I think an RX-7 motor would be the best choice for the light weight and then a US V8 because they are just so easy.
