Radio illumination

Hi,
Just bought a E200K 2001 (Y), and the radio illumination has just stopped working. Have I pressed a button incorrectly?
There is also a red LED that flashes on the radio when I switch off the car.
You can view and change the radio from the dashboard also.

Pls help

First place to look is the owners manual for the radio. It should tell you what to do.

Also I'm not sure about the UK but I would think that your vehicle should be under warranty so even if it something that burnd out or is defective it should be covered by the warranty.

RE: Radio illumination

Hi all,

The limination of stereo display on my 2002 C240 sometimes vary when I have the auto headlight function on. It sometimes faints so much it is difficult to see anything on the display. It will come back normal after 3 to 10 minutes. I believe it was some sort of electrical faults. The MB dealer didn't think anything wrong with it. They said that was how the C240's were designed to be so. Does anyone has similiar problems? Appreciate your help.

J,

I have a 2003 ML350. It has an ambient light sensor and dims the radio according tot he ambient light present. The darker the ambient light the dimmer the radio. I believe that it takes a few minutes to accomodate changes in light conditions. 3 minutes seems right 10 minutes seems execessive.
